Wonder Woman Wednesday: Blonde Army

Lianne is founder of Blonde Army, a modern wedding consultancy for couples, in her own words, “who want to express themselves through modest, simple design, push some creative boundaries and make the day about them and having a really bloody good time. There is no rule-book here.”

Here, she takes us through the plans for her dream day.

VENUE :: I love non-traditional spaces. Anywhere where I can get seriously creative and achieve something unique for my couple. From warehouses, to galleries, to green houses, to typical East End boozers. These venues ooze character and design, so you really don’t need to overload the styling. The venue really sets the tone of the day, plus is a major portion of budget – so I’m a huge fan of couples who really find a venue that’s totally them. I also love destination weddings – especially when sunshine may be involved! My dream would be to work at a run down chateau in Southern France or Italy, up in the hills, miles from anywhere where the food and wine is free-flowing and the party continues through to sunrise. How beaut would that be!

TABLE SETTING :: For me, the table needs to be welcoming and social. No huge, fussy centrepieces getting in the way of good conversation. Less is absolutely more when it comes to your tablescape. However when it comes to candles, you can never have too many. When you think you have enough, add some more. I am a candle addict and just love the ambience they create – friendly, romantic and inviting.

DRESS :: I love minimalist design. So sleek, simple and god damn sexy! I mean if you can’t feel sexy and empowered on your wedding day then when can you! That doesn’t mean low cut and thigh high – I just mean understated elegance and whatever that means to you. Whether it’s a dress or jumpsuit, white or coloured – you shouldn’t be dictated by anyone about what you should wear on your wedding day.

My personal faves currently are; Grace Loves Lace, Emmy Mae Bridal, Made With Love, Otaduy, Bo and Luca, Rime Arodaky….a lot of the Australian designers do it for me!

SHOES :: Again something non-typical. A chunky heeled boot or washed out converse would be the footwear of choice. I love ‘The Capsule Collection’ by Freya Rose because I love that you can wear them after your wedding too. I love the trend that brides are starting to buy products that they will wear for years after their wedding. How lovely to be able to wear the shoes, earrings or jacket (of course by Back Chat!) time and time again and the memories brought back to you every time you put them on.

ACCESSORIES :: I love a statement piece. Namely earrings – slight obsession with them! I’m loving everything by Tilly Thomas Luxx – check her out now…..again something unique and ultra modern. Also love a boho bride in a hat or an illustrated jacket.

THE GROOM :: I’m a huge fan of the groom really owning his outfit and I think guys are caring much more about what they wear. I love a skinny suit paired with a crisp white crew neck t-shirt and baseball pumps. I think its smart but casual and much easier party attire! As always I just love when a groom embraces his own style and chooses an outfit he is comfortable and himself in.

IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS :: I’m a sucker for details and the more personalised the more special. I really do believe people remember the little things so I do enjoy the little quirks couples put into their weddings. From the way they write their invites, to creative seating plans, personalised cocktails, reception games and they don’t have to cost a lot either! My new favourite prop is a gif booth or video guestbook.

BEST THREE INGREDIENTS FOR A WEDDING :: Good food, good booze, good company.

Thanks, Lianne!!! Check out the Blonde Army website here.
