ON 10 June 2017, Hannah and Adam tied the knot at St Patrick’s Church Patterdale and went on to Hannah’s parent’s house for the after party in Crook a Beck, Patterdale, where they celebrated in three awesome tipis from Special Event Tipis. We got the low down on the special day….
Food: Local Cumbrian roast leg of lamb, which we all carved at the tables then big sharing pavlovas and crème brûlées for pud. All done by Steve and Kate our caterers from Wagtail catering – we even brewed our own wedding ale with them! My sister made our awesome semi naked cake.
Photographer: The Hendrys and Jon Bird as videographer.
Dress/shoes/ grooms get up by: French designer Rime Arodaky from The Mews Bridal in Notting Hill, Shoes from Miista and Adam’s suit was Walker Slater.
First dance song: David Bowie – Let’s Dance. Slow and acoustic to start, then our band sped it up for everyone to join in!
Most memorable moment: We were off having our photos taken in the other paddock and two of our baby lambs escaped through the gate and Adam and I had to herd them back in..! I can’t wait to see the video of that – not ideal in a wedding dress! We also had really informal speeches and a few different friends did some short poems – two of my best mates from Ireland did a limerick, which was hilarious and totally brought the house down!

Advice to brides planning their wedding: Enjoy the planning stage – its really fun, you get to meet loads of lovely people and see some great things. Make some memories and have fun! We did so much ourselves for our wedding having it at home and making a lot of things ourselves that we had a great time!
Any surprises: It rained…. a lot! We always knew it was a potential but we had a real storm come through, which meant we had to change out convertible beetle for the lovely grey one we actually had on the day – cars got stuck in the mud and wellies proved very handy – but it made the atmosphere inside the tipis so much fun and then when the sun did come out everyone ran outside and it was amazing!
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Lawson!
